FUNCTIONAL ORGANOGEL COMPRISING TRIAZOLE/IRON COMPLEX

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new structure which can stably and reversibly develop spin crossover and is easily moldable or processable.

SOLUTION: The organogel is formed from a triazole/iron complex represented by formula (A) and a 5 to 16C alkane. In the formula (A), X is a triazole ligand represented by formula (B) and coordinated with two iron (II) atoms through the nitrogen atoms in positions 1 and 2 of the triazole ring; and R1is a 1 to 16C alkyl group. In formula (B), R2, R3, and R4are each independently a hydrogen atom or a 1 to 16C alkyl or alkoxyl group, provided that at least one of R2, R3, and R4is an 8 to 16C alkyl or alkoxyl group.
