<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform switching to a direct print mode at high speed and to perform print operation in advance. <P>SOLUTION: A digital camera 1 being connected, at first, with PC2 through a communication means conforming to USB standard or Bluetooth standard displays a connection screen as an initial display screen for showing that connection and then displays one or more PC connection screens continuously. When an ADJ key on an operation console is depressed by a user (operator), it is connected to communicate with a printer 3 and a transition is made immediately to a direct print mode without waiting for input of information showing detailed specification of the printer 3.
