PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rust preventive which is safe to the human body even when blended with cosmetics, foods, etc., and has a rust preventing effect higher than the conventional product. SOLUTION: This rust preventive containing, as an effective component, an extract of at least one plant selected from the group consisting of plants of the genus Bidens, represented by Bidens pilosa, and plants of the genus Aloe, such as Aloe arborescens and Aloe vera, has a high rust preventing effect.
