PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of estimating the degree of corrosion, even if the corrosion current is small. SOLUTION: In the method of estimating the corroded state of a longitudinal metal 2 arranged at least partially in a first medium 1, an AC current potential difference formation process and an AC current measurement process are executed. The AC current potential difference formation process forms a setting potential difference, equivalent to a DC potential difference existing between a part that is in contact with the medium 1 of the longitudinal metal 2 and a conductive member 4 between the longitudinal metal 2 and the conductive member 4, by using an AC potential difference forming means 12, while the longitudinal metal 2 is in contact with the conductive member 4 arranged in a second medium 3, that is the same as or different from the first medium 1. The AC current measurement process measures the AC current flowing into the longitudinal metal 2 by the AC potential difference formation process, ant the corrosion current that flows to the longitudinal metal 2 is inferred, based on the AC current measured in the AC current measurement process.
