PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety handrail T which can protect the operator from falling to the ground when a predetermined impact tensile load is applied in a handrail inward direction onto an upper horizontal frame 12 while a hook F of a safety band A is attached to the upper horizontal frame 12 of a handrail main body 7. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the handrail T, when a predetermined impact tensile load is applied in the handrail inward direction onto the upper horizontal frame 12 of the handrail main body 7 while the hook F of the safety band A put on the operator M is attached to the upper horizontal frame 12, in order that a vertical frame 11 of the handrail main body 7 is not bent on a lower side of the vertical frame 11 but bent on an upper side of the same at a necessary height, a horizontal intermediate bar 14a is arranged on the upper side of each vertical frame 11 at the necessary height. Further the horizontal intermediate bar 14a has both ends thereof extended downward along the right and left vertical frames 11, 11 as vertical frame reinforcing rods 14o, 14o which are then bound to the right and left vertical framed 11, 11 in one body.
