PURPOSE:To provide effects for imparting a compact structure, facilitating maintenance and achieving noise reduction, a high printing speed and the reduction in operation cost, by arranging a plurality of thermal heads having heat generators each divided into plural sections selectively energized corresponding to a plurality of cassette ribbons each having an ink ribbon mounted thereon. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 1a moves to the left printing position along with a carriage 5 without being contacted with cut paper 15. When a latch solenoid 34 is excited at the start time of printing, left and right bifurcated links 36 are revolved to a counterclockwise direction and the side surface of a printing operation lever 37 presses the end part 24d of a thermal head pressing plunger 24 and a roller block end part 31c by mechanical displacement quantity and a thermal head 6 is certainly contacted with the cut paper 15. A roller block 31 revolves to a clockwise direction and an engaging part 31b is contacted with an ink ribbon 1a under pressure to take up the ink ribbon 1a while always cooperated with a ribbon feed shaft 26 driven by a stepping motor in a state frictionally rotated to the direction of a feed-out spool 30. |
