PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control degradation in sealing performance caused by wear of a sealing member by preventing wear of the sealing member. SOLUTION: The butterfly valve is provided with a valve body 12 which is provided within a passage 11 of a fluid with flexible rotation and which is for closing the passage 11. The sealing member 14 is provided to the valve body 12. Then the sealing member 14 is for sealing the clearance 17 between the valve body 12 and the passage 11 by being deformed by a pressure difference between the passages 11 on both sides of the valve body 12 when the passage 11 is closed by the valve body 12.
