PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which is constituted by housing an image projection device in a case, wherein dust is prevented from being stuck to an optical component in the image projection device when it is not used, so as to prevent the deterioration of optical characteristic caused by the adhesion of dust. SOLUTION: In synchronization with a power source control circuit which supplies power to the image projection device 2 housed in the case 1 with a screen 31 provided on its front part, a control means for a rotational drive device 32 is used to control a rotational driving means 32 so that the tilt angleβof the picture projection device 2 may be a predetermined angle for making the image projection device 2 perform picture display when the image projection device 2 is operated, and controls the rotational driving means 32 so that the tilt angleβof the image projection device 2 may be an angle for making the surface of the optical component in the image projection device 2 an inclined surface where the adhesion of the dust by natural drop is prevented when the image projection device 2 is not operated.
