PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building with an extension portion for requiring a shorter working period for extension and simplifying the repair of a collapsed outer wall portion. SOLUTION: An extension unit 10 is mounted ranging from an extension opening portion 3 formed on the outer wall portion 1 to form an extension portion. The extension opening portion 3 is formed by an inside opening portion 7 encircled by a pair of right and left existing columns 4, an existing sill 5 and an upper cross member 6 and an outside opening portion 9 formed in an exterior wall material 8. The crosswise size of the outside opening portion 9 is larger than a size between the right and left columns 4 and the remaining right and left vertical opening edges of the exterior wall material 8 is put into the condition of being supported by outdoor side faces 4a of the columns 4. A vertical inner face 9a of the exterior wall material 8 is covered with vertical retention portions 15 provided on right and left side face portions 12 of the extension unit 10 to prevent the view from the outdoor side. An upper cross inner face 8a of the exterior wall material 8 is covered with an upper cross retention portion 16 provided on an upper face portion 14 of the extension unit 10 to prevent the view from the outdoor side.
