PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an optical pickup device and an optical recording medium in an optical recording and reproducing device from the contamination caused by dust and sticking dirt by making it possible to effectively avoid contamination and contaminants of dust or the like on the near-field optical lens.

SOLUTION: The light incident surface 51a is made convexed spherical, and the object surface 51b is made convex. Then, a dust collector 60 is provided at the object side of the retainer of the objective lens and/or this object surface 51b.
