PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve speedup by reducing the difference in level of the traveling surface of the guide roller of an endless link device to the utmost in the guide rail used in an apparatus for stretching a sheet-like article using the endless link device and made variable in stretching magnification. SOLUTION: In this stretching machine of the sheet-like article using the endless link device 3 guided on the guide rails 5 and 6, a plurality of slits 52 are provided to the bent parts of the flexible rail joints 51 connected to the guide rails 55 and 56 of a fan-shaped section where the sheet-like article 1 is stretched to make it possible to regulate the folding angle of the bent parts of the guide rails.
