PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the design giving an appearance of fair-faced concrete or a rusted steel material is high-cost and the workmanship of individual products has so far been dependent upon the skill of the craftsman because each product is produced manually by a single skillful craftsman. SOLUTION: Interior and exterior boards having a desired design involving random appearances of two or more coatings can be mass-produced industrially by carrying out a first process of applying a coating 3 to a plate of a base material 1 as a base coat, a second process of putting volatile droplets, e.g. water drops, on the base coat in a dispersed state, a third process of applying another coating 9 on the droplets 5 as an upper coat and a fourth process of causing the droplets 5 to evaporate and escape to form a design through appearances of two or more coatings 3 and 9.
