<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink which has a good jetting property in jetting conditions comprising high driving frequencies and fine nozzle diameters, forms images exhibiting high color developing properties, and spreads a color region, to provide a composition thereof, and to provide a method for producing a pigment dispersion. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the pigment dispersion comprising at least a pigment having a degree of pigment surface hydrophilicity δm of 19 to 22, a pigment derivative, a photopolymerizable compound, a polymer dispersant, and a photopolymerization initiator and used for active light curable ink jets is characterized by melt-mixing the photopolymerizable compound with the polymer dispersant, adding and mixing the pigment containing the pigment derivative to the above-mentioned mixture to produce the slurry, and dispersing the slurry by the use of a circulation type bead mill in bead mill dispersion conditions comprising a mill inner space volume [L]/circulated flow volume [L/min]×60 of 12 to 40 seconds and a 20≥charged slurry volume [L]/mill inner space volume [L]≥3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
