<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an ethylenic polymer excellent in both creep resistance and impact resistance in good balance as well as improved in moldability, suitable for large-size blow molding giving high quality blow molded products, and to improve functions of a Phillips catalyst for producing the ethylenic polymer. <P>SOLUTION: This organoboron-treated fluorinated chromium polymerization catalyst is obtained by incorporating a fluorine compound into a chromium catalyst carried on an inorganic compound carrier, activating the fluorinated chromium catalyst in a non-reducing atmosphere to convert at least a part of chromium atoms into hexavalent ones, and bringing the catalyst into contact with an organoboron compound expressed by general formula (1): R<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>R<SP>3</SP>B, (2): R<SP>4</SP>R<SP>5</SP>B(OR<SP>6</SP>) or (3): R<SP>7</SP>R<SP>8</SP>BOBR<SP>9</SP>R<SP>10</SP>, where in the formulae, individual Rs may be the same or different and each represents a 1-18C alkyl group which may be linked to form a ring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
