PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer capable of printing on a print paper and shortening time required for printing to increase efficiency in print processing. SOLUTION: A paper rotation unit U6 for rotating the print paper P around a rotary axis X vertical for its print face by 90 degrees is provided in the halfway part of a conveyance passage from a paper set part 3 to a print part 4. The paper rotation unit U6 rotates the print paper P to convey the print paper P to the print part 4 in a condition in which its longitudinal direction crosses the direction of conveyance orthogonally.
