Forming station for precision pressing of optical components including a forming block (7) and heating block (4,5). The heating block has an upper profile (1) and lower profile (2), which can move to and fro along an axis. The station has an inner forming surface for reception of forming material (3) and having high thermal conductivity a ring-shaped insulation device (6), and a guide element (8). Independent claims are included for: (1) method for using the forming station for forming precision pressing of optical components; (2) an optical glass element, especially a prism or lense obtained by the above process.
