An optically readable disc including at least one layer which is configured to store information (118, 120), a liquid which is capable of modifying at least one characteristic of the at least one layer (118, 120), upon contact therewith, the liquid being located at a storage location (126) separated from the at least one layer (118, 120) and a liquid pathway (128) configured to permit the liquid to flow therealong from the storage location (126) to the at least one layer (118, 120) in response to rotation of the disc having at least one rotational property, which takes place upon reading of the disc, the liquid pathway (128) being configured generally not to permit the liquid to flow from the storage location (126) to the at least one layer (118, 120) in response to rotation of the disc not having the at least one rotational property.
