PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volute pump capable of preventing air from remaining in clearance of a jaw part formed between an inlet part and an outlet part of pressure-up passage. SOLUTION: The pump provides in a pump body 11 a central box part 13 which inserts a drive shaft 12 and forms the C-shaped pressure-up passage 15 around the circumference of the central box part 13. The pump opens an intake port 17 in fluid communication with the inlet part 16 of one end of the pressure-up passage 15, a first discharge port 19a and a second discharge port 19b in fluid communication with the outlet part 18 of other end of the pressure-up passage 15 on surface of the pump body 11. The pump forms the jaw part projecting from the pump body 11 between the inlet and outlet parts 16, 18 of the pressure-up passage 15 and rotatably fits an impeller 28 rotated by the longitudinal drive shaft 12 in the pressure-up passage 15 and a concave groove notched in the jaw part 25. The pump perforates an air bleed hole 32 extracting air remaining in the clearance between the impeller 28 and the jaw part to outside of the lower surface of the jaw part over the first discharge port 19a.
