The invention provides a radio base station (200) comprising at least two receiving branches (201, 202) interconnected with demodulation means (230) wherein at least one of said receiving branches (201) is fed by power supply control means differentiating the power control for said at least one receiving branch from the other receiving branches (202). The power supply may be constantly turned on/(off) for those receiving branches connected/(not connected) with an antenna or, alternatively, the power is turned on/off during time periods T2/T1 for those branches connected with an antenna. The demodulation means (230) is normally a rake receiver unit comprising a rake finger control unit (205), a set of rake fingers 1-M, and at least one combiner (220) wherein said demodulation means provide a dynamic allocation of at least one rake finger to serve any one of said receiving branches (201, 202) and combiners (220). |
