SERVER IN BIDIRECTIONAL IMAGE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, ITS PROCESSING METHOD AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for effectively using bands between a server and each client in a bidirectional image communication system having clients and the server for encoding a video image using a video compression system for generating a key frame compressed in a frame and an insertion frame compressed between frames.

SOLUTION: The server is provided with a means for receiving encoded data from the client, a means for reproducing the received encoded data and accumulating it in a buffer, a means for selecting either of encoded data to the interpolation frame to be received from the client or encoded data to the key frame to be received from the client and transmitting it to the client based on a transmitting state from the server to the client, and a means for determining a refresh rate value of video encoding in the client and transmitting the refresh rate value to at least one client based on the transmitting state from the server to the client.
