A method for performing a video conference by terminal dial-up, comprises the steps of: presetting a conference sponsor specified number and a conference participant specified number; the calling terminal sending a request for establishing a video conference to the registration server by using the conference sponsor specified number; a multi-points control unit (MCU) configuring and performing the conference so as to finish the flow of conference sponsoring by terminal dial-up; the call terminal using the conference participant specified number to attend the conference after the processing of registration server and MCU, so that the flow of conference attending by terminal dial-up is completed. This invention can perform the multi-points videoconference by applying the same dial-up manner as the common voice telephone, and is simple and convenient in use. This invention simplifies the video conference service application and can apply to common users easily.
