PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule and its mounting method that prevent deviation in a caulking position and that enable ferrule mounting workability to be improved. SOLUTION: In the terminal part of an optical fiber cord 20, there are exposed successively a tension fiber 22, a secondary coated optical fiber 21, and a primary coated optical fiber 24 inside the secondary coated optical fiber 21, the exposed tension fiber 22 is folded back to the outer periphery of the jacket 23. This optical fiber cord 20 is inserted into the tubular body 12 of the ferrule 10, and then an inner wall 13 provided inside the tubular body 12 of the ferrule 10 is inserted between the tension fiber 22 and the secondary coated optical fiber 21. Thereafter, the secondary coated optical fiber 20 is fixed in the tubular body 12 with an adhesive 15 and, simultaneously, the caulking part 14 is caulked that is prepared in a position corresponding to the inner wall 13 in the tubular body 12; thus, the optical fiber cord 20 is fixed.
