PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent use of data illegally copied from an original recording medium without fail. SOLUTION: In a first session C, an application program for determining an original/a copy is recorded in a prepit form. An unrecordable designated area D for determining the original is arranged on its outside. Outside the designated area D, original data for reproduction of the recording medium 1 is recorded in the prepit form as sessions E, F subsequent to the second session or is recorded in a write once area G having recordable structure or the write once area G yet to be recorded is prepared.
