<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable, with a simple constitution, pen input on an arbitrary area on a panel surface allowing a hand to touch the panel and to enable both pen input and finger input. SOLUTION: On the top surface of a liquid crystal display part 10, a depression coordinate detection layer 30 is arranged which has detection unit areas which have a width smaller than that of a finger and are arrayed in xy directions and detects a coordinate position pressed with a pen, the hand holding the pen, or a finger. An ineffective area setting part 41 sets the area of a coordinate position pressed with the hand holding the pen as an ineffective area whose positions are determined relative to the pen coordinate values. A discrimination part 40 decides the pen coordinate values from the depression coordinate values calculated by a depression coordinate calculation part 38, calculates the ineffective area for the foregoing pen coordinate values, and decides that the coordinate values in the ineffective area other than the pen coordinate values indicate the coordinate position inputted by the depression by the hand holding the pen and coordinate values outside the calculated ineffective area indicate the coordinate position pressed with the finger for operation input.</p> |
