PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the gain to the optimum servo gain according to the position to write the data on a disk recording medium in an optical disk recording and reproducing device which writes data intermittently. SOLUTION: This device has a controller to measure maximum amplitude of each the focusing error signals and tracking error signals before writing at the writing position on a disk recording medium on every data writing operation, and to correct the gain of the servo error signals based on the relative changes (step S41A, S42A). Thus, it can obtain the optimum servo gain at each writing position on the disk recording medium, and can record the data appropriately even when using a disk recording medium having different reflectivity in its inside and outside, for example.
