PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a millimeter-wave band transmitter, in which the size and cost can be reduced by eliminating a millimeter-wave band PIN diode, and output level can be regulated. SOLUTION: In the millimeter-wave band transmitter not using a millimetric wave band PIN diode, level of harmonics being generated is increased, when a bias regulator 30 for a millimeter-wave band multiplication diode imparts a bias to the millimeter-wave band multiplication diode, such that a microwave band signal applied to the millimeter-wave band multiplication diode 420 operates in the nonlinear characteristics region of the millimetric wave band multiplication diode. When a bias is imparted so that it operates in the linear region of the millimetric wave band multiplication diode, the level of harmonics being generated is decreased or disappears. Consequently, the level of a millimetric wave band transmission signal can be freely regulated, depending on the extent of the microwave band signal relevance to the nonlinear characteristics region of the millimeter-wave band multiplication diode.
