PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting insert minimizing the generation of frictional heat in cutting a groove, and preventing chips from jamming or tangling, and easily be controlled. SOLUTION: The deep-grooving chip-forming cutting insert tool is equipped with a rear attachment part, a front cutting part, and a pair of side wall faces. The respective side wall parts are extended along the front cutting part and rear attachment part. The front cutting part includes a front end face, upper surface, and blade edge. The blade edge is arranged at a transition part between the front end face and the upper surface, and is extended from one side wall face to the other side wall face to form a cutting width. The blade edge is equipped with a main part, a pair of first corner parts, and a pair of second corner part. Step are formed between the respective first corner parts and the corresponding second corner parts.
