PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relative bearing detection apparatus of vehicles capable of accurately detecting the relative bearings of vehicles without having to use a gyroscope sensor. SOLUTION: The relative bearing detection apparatus detects the relative bearings of a vehicle on the basis of the operation of a steering wheel of the vehicle. A steering angle detection means 50 detects the steering angle of the steering wheel. An absolute bearing detection means 20 detects the absolute bearing of the vehicle. On the basis of the detected steering angle and the detected absolute bearing, the amount of bearing change per unit of steering angle is computed as a coefficient. On the basis of the steering angle when the steering wheel is operated and the previously determined coefficient, the relative bearing of the vehicle is computed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
