PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in a conventional flash apparatus wherein light transmissivity is deteriorated owing to to a nesa film arranged on a glass tube, and then, light radiation efficiency is reduced. SOLUTION: Regarding the flash apparatus provided with a xenon light emitting tube 37 constituted by packing gaseous xenon in a glass tube 37a which is not coated with the nesa film, and a reflector 38 for irradiating an object with reflecting light from the tube 37. The reflector 38 is formed of a conductive material, and also, arranged in press contact or close to the tube 37, and the gaseous xenon in the glass tube 37a is ionized by applying a voltage on the reflector 38.
