PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding contact guide for a transmission gear, improving the strength without any increase in weight of a product, hardly causing deformation in molding, and having little variation in dimensions of a finished product. SOLUTION: In this sliding contact guide for a transmission gear, a resin-made shoe 100 is fitted and fixed to a metallic guide base. The resin-made shoe has a guide surface where a running chain comes into sliding contact and a guide back 120 abutted on the metallic guide base. The guide back has a first rib 130 formed on both side parts in the longitudinal direction and a second rib 132 formed like a grid on the inside of the first rib.
