<p>A DNA having the promoter activity of OsSUT1 gene; a transgenic plant capable of specifically expressing a desired foreign gene in the vascular bundle or the phloem by using the above DNA as a promoter, etc. A DNA having the promoter activity of OsSUT1 gene is isolated from a rice (Oryza sativa L.) genomic library. This DNA has a promoter sequence exerting a phloem-specificity and growth time-specificity in its base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1. A transgenic plant expressing a desired foreign gene specifically to the phloem or to the vascular bundle is constructed by ligating the foreign gene to the downstream of the promoter DNA and then inserting it into genome.</p> |
