Provided is a biodegradable polyester resin composition, which is superior in biodegradability, mechanical strength, and a barrier property against oxygen, organic solvent, and moisture and produces biodegradable articles having a barrier property. The biodegradable polyester composition having a barrier property is obtained by mixing 100 parts by weight of a biodegradable polyester resin with 1-60 parts by weight of a nano composite of a polylactic acid and a layered clay compound to be dried, wherein the biodegradable polyester resin consists of an aliphatic polyester resin and an aliphatic/aromatic polyester resin. A weight ratio of the polylactic acid and layered clay compound in the nano composite is 58.0:42.0 to 99.9:0.1.
