PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor which comprises a rotary shaft, a compressing mechanism to be driven by the rotary shaft, a housing storing the rotary shaft and the compressing mechanism, and a shaft sealing device for sealing a housing penetration portion of the rotary shaft, the compressor being applied with a measure for preventing leak of refrigerant gas from the shaft sealing device to the external environment when the internal pressure of the housing is high. SOLUTION: The compressor for compressing the refrigerant comprises the rotary shaft, the compressing mechanism to be driven by the rotary shaft, the housing storing the rotary shaft and the compressing mechanism, and the shaft sealing device for sealing the housing penetration portion of the rotary shaft.
