CERAMIC HEATER, GLOW PLUG, AND CERAMIC HEATER MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic heater capable of exerting high durability even when it is used over a long time. SOLUTION: This ceramic heater 1 includes: a columnar substrate 13 formed of an insulating material; a resistor 11 embedded in one end side of the substrate 13; a pair of current-carrying parts 12b and 12c embedded in the substrate 13 in a form connected to the resistor 11 and extending to the other end side of the substrate 13; and a pair of electrode parts 12a and 12d exposed to a surface on the other end side of the substrate 13 in a form connected respectively to the respective current-carrying parts 12b and 12c. Both the current-carrying parts 12b and 12c are made of the same material as that of both the electrode parts 12a and 12d. An axial cross-sectional area S1 of each of the electrode parts 12a and 12d is equal to or larger than a cross-sectional area S2 of each of the current-carrying parts 12b and 12c in a direction perpendicular to an axis of the ceramic heater.
