PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device having a car position detection device capable of accurately detecting the car position with a small number of parts. SOLUTION: The elevator device is provided with a plurality of IC tags 100 (IC tag 101 to 110) having written position information on a governor rope 7 circulating interlocking with the elevation of the car 2, and a tag reader 9 reading the position information of the IC tag 100 on an elevator shaft wall 8 relatively moving to the IC tag 100 accompanied by the elevation of the car.
