PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric generator constituted to generate electric power by enabling a pair of floating bodies to alternately go up and down by buoyancy in water to reduce cost by eliminating a water tank, and achieve an efficient power generation by eliminating structural limit of the height. SOLUTION: The electric generator 1 comprises a float body 2 floated over the water surface, a generator 3 placed on the surface of the float body 2, a cage 4 partitioned and suspended under the float body 2 to be moored at the bottom of the water, a pair of floating bodies 5, 5 placed in the partitioned cage 4, a wire rope 8 having both ends fastened to the cage 4 and wound around pulleys 6, 6 placed respectively at the ends of the floating bodies 5, 5, and around pulleys 7 provided to the generator 3, and an air-filling device 30 for filling air in the floating bodies 5, 5.
