PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lift installation enabling compensation of elongation of different support belts, and a special arrangement of a deflection roller such as an adjustment of a counterweight. SOLUTION: In this device and method, the car or the counterweight is suspended by the support belts 6. A suspension belt 6 is coupled with the car or the counterweight by using a deflection roller unit 10. The deflection roller unit 10 provides a space for the single support belt 6. The deflection roller unit 10 is used for the compensation of the different elongations of some support belts 6 in this case, and the support belts 6 can be easily mounted.
