PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planetary gear speed reducer to be used for an electric control valve, accurately avoiding the operation of overload on a feed screw mechanism by accurately setting limiting transmission torque while reducing the mass of a member which idles during overload for less inertial force during idling and less driving load. SOLUTION: The planetary gear speed reducer 32 comprises a thin plate spring 74 arranged between the outer peripheral face of a fixed ring internal gear 41 and a fixed-side spring case 71 storing the fixed ring internal gear 41 to construct a slip type torque limiter mechanism 70 which uses friction force to be determined by the spring force of the thin plate spring 74 to put the fixed ring internal gear 41 in friction engagement with the spring case 71 in the rotating direction.
