PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor free of occurrence of defects relative to the output image quality of an image forming apparatus, such as wear and scratch due to repeated use of the photoreceptor, by obtaining a film having a desired surface hardness without causing physical problems such as faulty curing, excessive shrinkage, and migration of a low molecular component contained in an adjacent layer when a crosslinking material is used so as to improve the wear and scratch resistances of a surface layer of a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a photosensitive layer on a conductive support, the surface layer of the photoreceptor is obtained by curing a coating liquid comprising at least a trifunctional or higher functionality radical polymerizable monomer having no charge transport structure, a radical polymerizable compound having a charge transport structure, and one or more organic solvents having a boiling point of≤90°C under 1 atm after coating by a spray coating method by which fine liquid drops produced by discharging and atomizing the coating liquid from a nozzle having a very small opening are stuck on the photosensitive layer to form a coating film.
