PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a V-groove substrate for optical fiber array which has high processing precision, moreover, has excellent productivity and permits drastic reduction in production cost. SOLUTION: The V-groove substrate for optical fiber array is composed of a V-groove stand on which a plurality of V-shaped grooves oriented in parallel to the upper surface are formed, a cover receiving stand to which a cover of optical fibers is abutted and a substrate main body which is bonded to the lower surface of the V-groove stand and a cover receiving stand. The V-groove stand is made of resin material and the substrate is made of glass material having a linear expansion coefficient substantially equal to that of the optical fiber.
