<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter for a motor drive system employing a fuel cell as a main power supply more efficiently while reducing the size and cost. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter generating a pulse voltage of AC voltage waveform from the output voltage of a fuel cell comprises a DC voltage source outputting three potential voltages produced from the fuel cell and a power storage means where a common potential is formed by connecting the low potential sides or the high potential sides each other, and switching means connecting, respectively, with one of three potential voltages and applying the voltage to the output part of the power converter wherein the switching means connect with three potential voltages, respectively, and control the on/off pulse width thus generating the pulse voltage. Power from the fuel cell and the power storage means can be controlled by simply controlling on/off of the switch, and the need for an expensive large size DC-DC converter having a large loss can be eliminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
