<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device expanding a dynamic range. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes; an image-gaining processing module 21 which receives an image signal and converts it to a first color image signal and a second color image signal, and generates a first color image-gaining signal and a second color image-gaining signal, and also generates a first color gain value according to the first color image signal and generates a second color gain value according to the second color image signal; a first light source 22 and a second light source 23; a modulating module 25 which generates a first color control signal for modulating brightness emitted from the first light source 22 by controlling it to become a multiple of the original brightness of the light beam from the light source and the inverse of the first color gain value and generates a second color control signal in the same way; a first image display module 26 for forming a first color image by the first color image-gaining signal and the first light source after modulation; a second image display module 27 for forming a second color image in the same way; and a combining module 29 for forming an image by receiving the first and the second color images at the same time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
