<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit for a hybrid vehicle that can realize high response travel control irrespective of the coupling state of an engine clutch. <P>SOLUTION: The control unit for a hybrid vehicle that comprises a plurality of power sources using an engine and at least one motor, coupling elements, and a differential gear transmission having an engine clutch, and that realizes a plurality of travel modes by combining coupling/release of the coupling elements and engine clutch, releases the engine clutch and controls a target rotating speed of a rotary member of a planetary gear train connected to the engine clutch at or below a predetermined rotating speed when releasing some of the coupling elements to implement travel only by the driving force of the motor while realizing a continuously variable transmission gear ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
