PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor the safety of a moving person moving among facilities to be guarded by using guard apparatuses installed in respective facilities to be guarded. SOLUTION: The guard system comprises a first guard apparatus installed in a first target to be guarded, a second guard apparatus installed in a second target to be guarded and a monitoring center for monitoring these guard apparatuses. When a subject intends to go out, the first guard apparatus transmits destination information and ID information to the monitoring center through a communication network and the second guard apparatus reads out the ID of the subject and transmits the subject's ID information to the monitoring center through the communication network. The monitoring center counts prescribed time after receiving the subject's destination information and ID information from the first guard apparatus and determines whether the subject's ID information is received from the second guard apparatus in counting or not.
