PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device constituted to surely prevent the soiling and the adhesion of dust on the light incident surfaces of optical parts on which illuminating light from a light source is made incident without causing difficulty in manufacture or the steep rise of manufacture cost. SOLUTION: The light transmissive surfaces of the respective optical parts 22, 26, 27 and 28 through which the illuminating light from the light source 1 is transmitted are set as nearly vertical surfaces, and cooling air whose speed is≥1.5m/s is sent to the light transmissive surfaces by a cooling means.
