<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of the location of an obstacle outside a vehicle with a 3-dimensional sound. <P>SOLUTION: This obstacle detection supporting device is provided with cameras 3F, 3R, 3L and 3B installed outside a vehicle 10, and for acquiring the surrounding circumstances of the vehicle as images, an image display device 1B installed so as to be freely attachable/detachable for the vehicle, a location detecting device 7 for detecting the location of the image display device 1B and speakers 2F and 2R. The vehicle peripheral circumstances on an extended line from the point of view of a user to the image display device 1B are segmented from images acquired by the cameras 3F to 3F based on the location detected by the location detecting device 7, and displayed on the display of the image display device 1B, and the obstacle is detected from the acquired image, and the user is notified of the location of the obstacle with a 3-dimensional sound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
