PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device with a simple configuration capable of reliably preventing a shading correction plate from raising from the document placing surface of a contact glass and performing stable shading correction. SOLUTION: A pressing force releasing member 46 is disposed on the shading correcting plate 44 provided on the same plane as the document placing surface 22a of the contact glass 22 for a document table, and a pressurizing member 47 is disposed on the member 46. The member 47 presses the plate 44 and the member 46 onto the document placing surface of the contact glass 22. By doing this, the plate 44 is pressurized onto the surface 22a of the contact glass 22. Thus, this enables the plate 44 to always contact the contact glass 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
