PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a text document authentication method using a watermark using magnetic marking material. SOLUTION: A text document authentication method of the present invention includes the steps of: creating a document having a text; creating at least a part of the text by combining a first, visually perceptible marking material and a second, detectable yet not visually perceptible marking material; and verifying correctness of the document by applying predetermined processing to read a second marking material pattern.
