PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitoring system of an escalator, easily installed and securing favorable communicating state. SOLUTION: In this remote monitoring system of the escalator for performing remote monitoring/diagnosis of the escalator 4 using a public radio communication network, an antenna 1 of the radio communication machine connecting the remote monitoring system to the public radio commnication network is installed at a floor plate 4b of an escalator riding entrance.
