PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic cylinder device capable of being easily controlled and capable of coping with a large capacity facility. SOLUTION: A piston 14 is moved by a hydraulic pressure so as to follow the movement of a movement body side rod 24, and thereby large axial force is generated on a driving rod 15 jointed to the piston 14. When the piston 14 is moved in a speed higher than the movement speed of opening and closing valves 22 and 23, the opening and closing valves 22 and 23 are opened and the hydraulic pressure of an oil chamber of a cylinder 11 escapes through a working fluid passage provided on the piston. Therefore, the piston 14 always follows the opening and closing valves 22 and 23, in other words, the movement of the movement body side rod 24, and moves in the same speed with the movement body side rod 24. The driving rod 15 is driven with particularly large force in proportion to the force moving the movement body side rod, and the driving rod 15 is moved to follow the movement body side rod 24.
